We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual for the role of Graduate IP Engineer. The role reports to the IP Manager and is based in Khalsa.
The Graduate IP Engineer is responsible for the technical system operations support and maintenance of Digicel IP infrastructure for HUB Markets. This includes the enterprise IP core and all related IP edge networks and international points of presence that Digicel may operate.
Core responsibilities:
- Ensure that Digicel IP infrastructure and applications meet the needs of company’s IP guidelines & Standards.
- Ensure the high availability and reliability of the IP Core network supporting the region’s Internet/Voice and Data systems.
- Proper design and implementation of new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment.
- Configure and install various IP network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS) on the Digicel IP domain.
- Ensure that all systems and network elements are designed and implemented with appropriate level of IP security, consistent and in line with the Digicel Group Security Policy.
- Perform R&D with a view of continuously improving on, technology, products and services and customer care.
- Ensure that all network elements are adequately secured against vulnerabilities by employing the relevant IP security best practices.
- Maintain all major network elements to achieve 99.99% availability.
- Ensure the speedy resolution and escalation of faults on the IP network in accordance with agreed service level agreements.
- Managing and Maintaining Policy Control Elements like censorship, service creation, billing, congestion management, and security for Mobile Traffic.
Academic qualifications and/or experience required for this role:
- B.Sc. or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of experience in IP & Data technology.
- Cisco CCENT certification.
- Basic ITIL knowledge
Skills required for this role:
- Basic ITIL knowledge.
- Billing and or PCRF Function Knowledge will be advantageous.
- IP Network design planning, device configurations and network management.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP or OSI Stack, network protocols, wireless technologies & Firewalls.
- Practical knowledge of network equipment: Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Wi-Fi.
- Knowledge of host based, network security, firewalls, intrusion detection, and syslog.
- Design, operations and maintenance of an IP and ISP environment.
