We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to take on the role of Head of Technical, based in our Fiji Technical Team at the Khalsa office. This role reports directly to the CEO – Fiji Market.

As the Head of Technical, you will oversee the technical direction, strategy, and performance of our telecommunications infrastructure and services. This position requires a deep understanding of the latest technologies, network operations, and a proven track record in leading high-performing technical teams.

Core Responsibilities

• Technical Strategy & Network Management: Lead the development and implementation of technical strategies to support business objectives, ensuring robust and scalable network infrastructure.
• Network Performance: Conduct continuous reviews of network performance, including cell outages, RF & Core KPIs.
• Telecommunications Systems: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of mobile, broadband, and data services.
• Capacity Planning: Review network traffic trends and initiate expansion plans to prevent congestion.
• Quality Assurance: Develop and implement processes and procedures for team quality assurance.
• Customer Service: Manage corporate customer complaints, liaising with the team to ensure SLA compliance for fault resolution.
• Collaboration & Coordination: Collaborate with ICT customer technical teams and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Vendor Management: Coordinate with fiber and electricity suppliers to resolve operational issues promptly.
• Site Acquisition: Oversee site acquisition for the deployment of new sites.
• Project Implementation: Coordinate with Hub teams and other departments to implement local projects.
• Cross-functional Team Management: Manage a cross-functional team of engineers and network specialists to drive innovation and improve service delivery.
• Emerging Technologies: Identify emerging technological trends, assess their impact on the business, and implement solutions to enhance network performance and customer satisfaction.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the technical budget for efficient resource allocation.
• Team Development: Mentor and develop technical talent within the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety practices.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience:
  • Proven experience in a senior technical leadership role in the telecommunications industry (e.g., CTO, Head of Engineering, Technical Director).
  • Strong technical expertise in network engineering, systems integration, cloud technologies, and emerging telecom trends (e.g., 5G, IoT).
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects and managing cross-functional teams.
• Skills:
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • A strategic mindset to translate complex technical challenges into business solutions.
