The ICT Support Engineer will report to the Head of Products & ICT Technical Operations. This role is responsible for delivering technical support and assistance to end-users, ensuring the seamless functioning of the organization's information and communication technology systems. Key duties include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, implementing system upgrades, and providing user training.
Main Duties/ Responsibilities
- Provide frontline support to end-users, addressing technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
- Offer assistance through various channels, including in-person, phone, email, and remote support tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, escalating issues when necessary
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on ICT systems, including updates, patches, and system upgrades.
- Monitor system performance and security to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures.
- Install, configure, and maintain HPBX, CCTV,WLAN,LAN and WAN
- Conduct hardware and software inventory management.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues and procure necessary equipment.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with network administrators to optimize network performance.
- Create and update documentation for troubleshooting procedures, system configurations, and user guides.
- Provide training to end-users on new technologies and software applications.
- Implement and enforce security policies and procedures.
- Stay current on security threats and implement measures to safeguard ICT systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex technical issues.
- Communicate effectively with end-users, translating technical jargon into understandable terms.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to IT strategy discussions.
Academic qualifications, skills and/or experience required for this role
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an ICT Support Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Firewall configuration and management especially Fortinet firewalls
- Market and customer presentations skills
- Experience with security products like Sentinel One or any other with be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet professional Certifications, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are a plus.
- Technical proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-focused with a service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Passionate in taking challenges and drive to successfully closed the task
