We are currently seeking a highly motivated IP Engineer to join our Technical Team at the Khalsa office, reporting to the Head of Technical. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growth and innovation!

 

As an IP Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical system operations support and maintenance of Digicel IP, Datacom or Network infrastructure in the Fiji market.

 

Core Responsibilities:

 

  • Designing and implementing global network environments and associated network-based applications for multinational companies. 
  • Designs tactical plans in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Architecture and design of IP networks
  • Developing operational documentation to support new and existing network-based applications/equipment.
  • Monitoring all communication lines, hardware, including problem isolation, determination, resolution, assisting, coordinating, and dispatching resources and equipment as required.
  • Provide technical support to sales and technical teams with regards to IP infrastructure.
  • Testing and evaluating emerging Technologies to support the delivery requirements of the network prior to handover.
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure top quality products and services are delivered to all customers.
  • Proactively perform corrective maintenance for IP network as per the set schedule.
  • Develop automation and other internal systems and tools to assist in the care and feeding of the IP network and integration activities
  • Responsible for network planning, configuration and implementation for Smart Grid utility clients
  • Collating network capacity analysis as required.
  • Preparing detailed network documentation, technical papers and reports as required.
  • Identifying, defining and measuring the quality of support and service provided to customers and striving for continuous improvement.

 

Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in BSc: CS/IS, BNS or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in IP & Data technology.
  • Basic knowledge with ITIL
  • Cisco CCNA Certification.
  • Knowledge of network performance, hardware and software management.
  • Sound Knowledge of Layer Two (2) Networks and protocols like Spanning-Tree, E-Lines and E-LANs.
