We are currently seeking a highly motivated IP Manager to join our Technical Operations Team at the Digicel Khalsa Office reporting to the Chief Technology Officer - Regional. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growth and innovation!
To provide people technical leadership in the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of Digicel’s IP, network, and cybersecurity infrastructure across Hub (Fiji, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga and Nauru) markets.
The IP Manager is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, scalability, and performance of Digicel’s enterprise IP core, edge networks, security platforms, and international points of presence. The role leads a team of engineers who perform complex troubleshooting, supports strategic infrastructure initiatives, and ensures adherence to Digicel’s IP engineering and cybersecurity standards.
Core responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Digicel’s IP Core, edge, and security infrastructure across Hub markets.
- Ensure Digicel’s IP infrastructure, security systems, and applications comply with the company’s IP engineering and cybersecurity standards.
- Oversee the performance, reliability, and scalability of Internet, voice, and data services supported by the IP network.
- Provide Level 3 operational support and advanced troubleshooting for complex network and cybersecurity incidents.
- Lead the planning, design, and deployment of new network services, infrastructure upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Architect resilient and scalable network solutions to support Digicel’s regional service delivery and business growth.
- Ensure network infrastructure is designed and implemented with appropriate security controls aligned with Digicel Pacific’s cybersecurity policies.
- Support the implementation of security frameworks including DDoS mitigation, traffic filtering, access control, and network segmentation in coordination with Telstra Cyber security team.
- Lead network capacity planning, performance optimization, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, configuration baselines, and operational procedures for IP and security infrastructure.
- Work closely with vendors and technology partners to evaluate new technologies and support network solution development.
- Lead and participate in change management processes to ensure proper planning, documentation, and execution of network changes.
- Provide guidance during major network incidents and coordinate resolution activities with internal teams.
- Support configuration audits, compliance checks, and security reviews for network infrastructure and remote access systems.
- Maintain high service availability and reliability targets across Digicel’s IP infrastructure.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to IP Engineers and Graduate Engineers within the team.
Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- 8 - 10 years of experience in IP networking, telecommunications, or service provider environments.
- 1 - 2 years of experience as a people leader in IP networking, telecommunications, or service provider environments.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Other certifications in Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)/ CompTIA Network+/ CompTIA Security +/ Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE will be an added advantage.
- Strong experience operating and designing service provider IP networks is preferred.
