This role will report to NOC Manager and in place to keep a watchful eye over all monitored network nodes and to ensure customer been informed on time.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor & provide first level support for the entire Digicel Pacific network 24/7, allowing on shift Engineer to work with relevant teams in quickly fixing network issues before they have a major impact on customers.
  • Maintain the efficient operation of the Digicel Pacific (PNG and Fiji Hub) network by monitoring, acknowledging and investigating all faults, which occur on the network. First and second line support is provided for all network nodes (local & international), internal customers and external customers.
  • Complete network monitoring, analysis, reporting and level 1 troubleshooting for Digicel markets in PNG, Fiji, Nauru, Vanuatu, Tonga and Samoa.
  • Financial and administration support for Fiji market (Technical Operations).
  • Information management for Digicel markets in Fiji, Nauru, Vanuatu, Tonga and Samoa (Technical Operations).
  • Facilitation of official communication for Digicel markets in Fiji, Nauru, Vanuatu, Tonga and Samoa (Technical Operations).
  • Records management support for Digicel markets in Fiji, Nauru, Vanuatu, Tonga and Samoa (Technical Operations).
  • Logistics management support for Digicel markets in Fiji, Nauru, Vanuatu, Tonga and Samoa (Technical Operations). Inventory management support for Digicel markets in Fiji, Nauru, Vanuatu, Tonga and Samoa (Technical Operations).
  • Monitor, analyze and report issues such as power outages, black-holes, network failures (2G, 3G, LTE, and ICT), generate ticket and assist on shift engineer to smoothly resolve the issue.
  • Monitor, analyze and report issues with network nodes (local & international) e.g. network systems, applications, servers, routers/switches, IT nodes, hardware, software, virtual machines etc.
  • Remote hands for level 2 Engineers especially after hours.
  • Network monitoring, analysis & reporting (KPI, network usage or utilization, TX reports, RF reports).  Level 1 troubleshooting for Technical issues.
  • Ensure the core network is stable.
  • First and second line support to all external departments/companies/vendors for Technical issues

 

Academic qualifications and/or experience required for this role:

  • Professional Certification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Information System or Computer Science or Tertiary Level Physics/Mathematics or IT or Networking or Routing/Switching or similar fields.
  • Knowledge and experience in networking, CS, IS, IT, ICT, telecommunications and power systems.
  • Experience in dealing with a diverse customer base in Telecommunication industry will be added advantage
