Carrier Coordinator and Product Tester

The Roaming Coordinator is primarily responsible for facilitating the implementation of roaming services between Digicel markets and international roaming partners. The role concentrates on delivery of new services and maintaining existing relationships to enhance inbound and outbound roaming revenue.

The position will requires management of partners, vendors and internal Digicel teams ensure targets are achieved. The successful applicant will be an effective project manager with the ability to coordinate roaming testing activities between roaming partners and vendors. This role will be reporting to the Head of International Business- Carrier Services

Core Responsibilities:

• Coordinating and following up the process of technical (IREG) and billing (TADIG) roaming testing (Voice, Camel, GPRS & 3G).
• Performing IREG testing (Roaming Products) in order to support to IREG team.
• Maintenance of the roaming functionality through performance of the post launch testing to ensure roaming service availability.
• Management of test SIM cards, maintenance of SIM cards database & supporting SIM cards inventory process.
• Sending of updated AA14, IR21, and any other requests or queries to all roaming partners by mail, tracking the information spreading among roaming partners
• Providing support to front line staff in resolving roaming related customer queries.
• Coordinating roaming activities with NSS operation, Roaming Partners and clearing houses

Academic qualifications and/or experience required for this role:

• Bachelor's degree but not mandatory or equivalent in a relevant area of specialty.
• At least 5 years of experience in the telecommunications field or in a related area.
• Familiar with telecommunications and networking concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Knowledgeable of telecommunication and networking protocols and standards including (but not limited to), GSM, LTE, CAMEL, MAP, SMS, SMPP etc.

Skills required for this role:

• Understanding of Operator setup and operational details
• Understanding of GSM/ 3G and LTE networks.
• Knowledge of equipment operations and network standards.
• Ability to communicate internally, upward and cross functionally.
• Ability to diagnose and correct various systems and inter working problems.
• Knowledge of IP network design, Implementation & Operations.
• Knowledge of 3GPP recommendations of GSM/GPRS service & its protocols.
