We are seeking to hire a highly motivated individual in the role of Field Operations Engineer to join our Technical Team based at the Khalsa office, reporting to the Team Leader.

 

As a Field Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all APM/DBS, power and transmission equipment and the monitoring of all related environmental factors throughout your region, to ensure 100% availability of all radio base stations at all times.

 

Core Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensuring all network KPIs are met on monthly basis and strive to streamline processes and delivery of services in smarter way.
  • Carrying out all planned and maintenance as per the set schedule including but not limited to conducting standby generator and battery routine, maintenance of power equipment and automatic transfer switch maintenance.
  • Maintenance of solar equipment on site including cleaning of solar panels, battery terminals, wiring of the solar panel and rectifier unit.
  • Maintenance of shell for the generators on sites to prevent rusting.
  • End to end maintenance of all microwave and APM equipment’s.
  • Swiftly responding to all breakdowns and implementing repairs as per set standards.
  • Liaising with equipment suppliers and maintenance contractors to ensure set timelines are adhered to.
  • Ensuring standard procedures are followed at all times.
  • Compiling and submitting weekly performance reports to your supervisor.

 

Academic qualifications, Experience & Skill a required for this role:

 

  • A diploma or degree in electronics or electrical engineering.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Sound knowledge on the operation and maintenance of microwave transmission systems.
  • Hands-on knowledge on power system maintenance and operation.
  • Ability to climb on towers to carry out maintenance works on Telco equipment with detailed working knowledge of telephony operations.
  • Working knowledge of GSM principles and radio base station with detailed understanding of radio transmitter, receivers and antennae.
  • Thorough understanding of DC and AC power systems.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills/qualities.
  • A valid group 2 driver’s license.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and handle multiple priority assignments simultaneously.
