Financial Controller- Vanuatu

As the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial operations and reporting for one of our Digicel Pacific markets. You will lead a dedicated finance team, including a Finance Manager, within the market, as well as the finance team based in the Fiji Hub. Your responsibilities will include financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, financial controls, and strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide regular financial reports and insights to senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance, identify areas of concern, and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
• Conduct periodic budget reviews and variance analysis to ensure alignment with financial objectives.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
• Conduct internal audits to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize liquidity and working capital.
• Develop and implement cash flow forecasting models to support financial planning and decision-making.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning and business development initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and achieve organizational goals.
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning within the finance department.
• Collaborate and align with the finance team based in the Hub to ensure consistency in financial processes, reporting, and compliance across the region.

Qualifications, Experiences & Skills required for this role:

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting. Professional certifications are highly desirable.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role within the telecommunications industry.
• In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices, and reporting standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent understanding of financial controls, compliance, and risk management.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
