We are seeking to hire a highly motivated individual in the role of project technician to join our Technical Team based at the Khalsa office, reporting to the Head of Technical. The term of this contract will be upto 12 months and as a project technician you will be responsible to Coordinate the functions of the Project team (Internal & External), warehousing supervision, Installation supervision, Upgrade Scheduling, Site Acceptance (PAT), New Site Surveys, New Sites Site Acquisition, Town & Country Planning Lodgments.
Core Responsibilities:
- Coordination of the Project involving both internal & external parties:
- Liaise with Internal (Digicel) & External (Huawei, Nokia, NEC & Sub-con) teams w.r.t upgrade & rollout scheduling, planning of installation, integration and commissioning.
- Work with Inventory Officer & take responsibility of all project out-bound & in-bound of equipment & materials per site as per Material Request listing received from vendor (Huawei) to ensure all materials are accounted for.
- Installation Supervision, Upgrade Scheduling & Site Acceptance (PAT):
- Actively supervise upgrade installations to ensure timelines are met.
- Upgrade / Cut-over scheduling via close liaison with the sub-con & Huawei to ensure we get upgrade sites on-air ASAP post installations.
- Working with installation sub-con near to end of project to carry out final Site Acceptance (PAT) & proper documentation to document & ensure all installations have been carried out to Digicel & proper Telecom standards. Post PAT acceptance, sub-con will handover O&M responsibility to Digicel to manage.
- New Site Surveys, Site Acquisition, Town & Country Planning (TCP) Lodgements.
- Work with RF, TX and SAC teams to carry out physical site surveys of the proposed new sites under the desirable search rings.
- Work with SAC team to finalize site leases agreement, lodgement of applications with respective TCP, Director of Lands, iLTB, etc.
- Provide Project updates in Weekly Technical Meetings & raise any road blocks ASAP that can hinder project delivery.
- Provide timely assistance in any project related matters, and not limited to above, to ensure timelines are met and there are no prolonged delays.
- Warehouse and Logistics Materials Requests (MR) & Dispatch Note (DN) validation, sign-off & documenting.
- Daily, Weekly Project updates, Maintaining of a Project Tracker (Installation Start/End, Integration Start, On-Air Date, etc.)
Academic qualifications, Skills & Experience required for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, with 3 years of experience in Telecommunications and 2 years in Project Management;
- or a Diploma in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, with 5 years of experience in Telecommunications and 3 years in Project Management
- Knowledge of RF, TX, and SAC.
- Strong supervisory and project management skills.
- Proficient in basic PC applications, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
