We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Collections Executive to enhance our debt recovery processes. This role involves managing outstanding debts, facilitating payment plans, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting HUB markets. Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, an understanding of financial processes, and advanced Excel expertise for data analysis and reporting.
Main Duties/ Responsibilities
- Engage with assigned customers at the start of each month to confirm receipt of bills and verify that all charges are correctly reflected.
- Proactively reach out to customers with outstanding accounts through calls, emails, messages, and other approved communication methods.
- Ensure collections meet or exceed targets set by management.
- Provide collection support to other assigned HUB markets.
- Address all customer queries/issues causing non-payment, escalating as necessary to appropriate teams/departments.
- Arrange, seek approvals, and ensure adherence to payment arrangements, following up continuously with the customer.
- Provide commentaries on aged debt accounts and engage in regular discussions with customers to secure payments.
- Submit disconnection requests for accounts with no payment updates and, if required, prepare legal claims with proper approvals.
- Deliver collection updates with detailed comments for accurate reporting on weekly and monthly basis.
- Use advanced Excel skills for reconciliation and analysis of customer accounts as needed.
- Foster smooth communication and workflows, particularly with departments providing or receiving critical information.
- Ensure all collection activities adhere to laws, regulations, and company policies, maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the team and organization.
Academic qualifications and/or experience required for this role
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in collections, preferably in the telecommunications sector.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Have Diploma/Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Ability to communicate with customers and attend their queries efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to work pro-actively and on own initiative
- Proven ability to work under pressure & to achieve targets
- Must be a good team player
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial & billing software
