Senior Roaming Specialist

We are seeking to hire a highly motivated individual in the role of Senior Roaming Specialist to join our team.

This role reports to the Head of International Business Carrier Services, and will be responsible for ensuring seamless connectivity for travelers, negotiating roaming agreements with partner networks, analyzing roaming usage patterns, and implementing strategies to enhance the roaming experience.

Core Responsibilities:

• Monitor, analyze and report roaming usage patterns to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings;
• Liaise with the respective engineering teams for fault resolution, capacity planning, relevant technical standards;
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations in carrier services;
• Ensure that all carrier (Roaming partner and vendor) integrations comply with industry regulations and security standards. i.e. Steering, STP and Firewall for cybersecurity;
• Responsible for preparing system engineering documents for the installation and operation of Roaming Technical equipment;
• Develop and execute Digicel Pacific’s roaming strategy to maximize revenue and enhance customer experience while roaming;
• Establish and maintain relationships with roaming partners, negotiate agreements, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations;
• Analyze roaming usage patterns and trends, identify opportunities for service improvement, and implement strategies to optimize roaming services;
• Negotiate competitive roaming rates, wholesale agreements, and interconnect charges with roaming partners to ensure cost-effective solutions.

Academic qualifications, experience required for this role:

• Preferably 5+ year’s telecommunications roaming experience.
• Technical understanding and experience of telecommunications networks.
• Good working knowledge of telecommunications protocols and standards including (but not limited to) GSM, LTE, CAMEL, MAP, SMS, SMPP, SS7, IP, SIP, RTP, TDM etc.
• International telecommunications experience preferred.
• Excellent skills in business English, written and spoken.
• Strong understanding of VoLTE, IMS and 5G network for Roaming
• Experience in Fraud disputes and analytics
• Digicel welcome applicants with relevant business/technical education or relevant working experience.
