We therefore invite internal applications for the position of Payment System Engineer based at the Digicel Khalsa office, reporting to the Manager Payment System.

This role is responsible for supporting the operations of EVD and Payment Systems, as well as the implementation of projects and programs across Digicel Pacific markets. It involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams within the Pacific Group, as well as external vendors and suppliers, to ensure effective Payment System operations and the successful execution of IT projects and strategies in alignment with the IT department's direction and the organization’s overall goals.

Core responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for supporting Operation, Projects & programs for EVD (Telepin), Payment System (Mycash), SIM Registration, Diaspora related applications (IMT & International Top Ups etc.), AML & other application/system under this portfolio
  • Work on customer & business queries coming through helpdesk/directly & provide effective solution
  • Vendor & 3rd party management for any operational issues, Projects/Programs, Change Requests, system maintenance or upgrade on required platforms
  • Mediate and support Business team to generate reports as and when required 
  • Available to work off hours during maintenance or outages
  • Work on projects and configure new request based on business requirements
  • Work as team player and support/train other team members as applicable and create positive work environment
  • Attend meetings, trainings or seminars as applicable
  • Support in developing and executing company policies
  • Support cross-functional investigations with a clear focus on the identification and resolution of root causes
  • Maintaining applications as per Telstra security guidelines & supporting audits 
  • Keep track of all the Operational tasks, projects/initiates and day to day action items
  • Regular & effective reporting of Operational KPIs, Projects, Programs & initiatives by department
  • Effective relation & Managing Vendors, 3rd party and cross functional teams
  • Own Continual Improvement within the team and constantly strive to eliminate issues, mitigate risks, increase automation, optimize service/team performance and improve efficiency

Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:

  • Professional Degree with 2+ Years of IT Industry Experience (Fresh graduates can also apply)
  • Excellent knowledge & experience in Top-up & Payment Systems operation
  • Excellent Knowledge & experience in People, Process, System & compliance Management
  • Excellent knowledge & experience in Project & Program managements
  • Understanding of software engineering principles and skills working on Unix/Linux/Windows Operating systems, Version Control and Office software
  • Knowledge of domestic and international payments, scheme rules, regulatory frameworks and FX
  • Ability to put user requirements to paper in terms of call flows & relational diagrams for product development and Integration 
  • Strong knowledge of web programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and SQL
