Operation and Maintenance Manager

This is mid-level position and responsible for day-to-day operations & maintenance of the Telecom network. The role is not only limited to operations but gives you a chance to work on new projects and initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

· Lead the network operations team in Vanuatu to ensure network operational KPIs target are met.

· Oversee all facets of network operations for the Telecom (2G, 3G & LTE) network.

· Manage a team of field engineers and technicians for stable network operations.

· Maintain local vendor relationships for smooth operations.

· Work with Project, business and other teams to ensure network monitoring, escalations and resolution are done within agreed timelines.

· Plan and ensure operational activities are done within budgeted OPEX.

· Co-develops processes, policies and strategy to ensure network operations goals are met. OPEX assurance and finding innovative solutions/ ideas & provide decision making points to management to reduce the site operating cost.

· Review of all contactor & FE PM and CM activities with photographs and detailed site reports.

· Coordination with Contractor for the daily corrective & preventive activities to reduce the outage times.

· Monitoring & sample audits during the fuel refilling & invoice validation.

· Support planning and optimization teams for network expansion and rollouts.

· Ensure timely preventive and corrective maintenance for sites and the Data Center.

· Negotiate with vendors under the company procurement policies.

Functional Skills:

· Understanding of Operator setup and operational details

· Ability of motivate and direct staff as well as communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

· Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and analytical skills.

· Ability to coach and mentor employees for improved performance.

· End to end understanding of the network design, build and operations process and network components.

· Strong analytical skills are required to address complex issues.

· Contracting & negotiations skills.

Academic qualifications, experience and skills required for this role:

· A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications, or equivalent.

· More than 8 years of experience in Telecom field with more than 3 years of management experience.

· Expert knowledge on generators, power and Telecom operations.

· Handson experience on passive and active network elements will be a plus.
