The Commercial Finance Manager will be the point of contact in-market in liaison with the Samoa Financial
Controller from the Shared Services Hub. The role plays an extensive part in developing and implementing
a roadmap of Commercial activity for each local business on an ongoing basis in co-operation with the
local management teams.
The role involves macro responsibility for all retail revenue and cost lines across the business.
Core Responsibilities:
Finance Management/Operations
• Liaise with the Finance Controller in Fiji on all matters relating to Finance and act as the key contact
pertaining to Financial matters in the market.
• Become the Commercial point of contact person in the market for all commercial matters including
ensuring KPIs are attended to in a timely fashion.
• Own the market KPI submission and completeness in liaison with Financial Controller.
• Act as a Business partner for Business Solutions (including ICT, ISP and Corporate) and assist them in
forecasting, revenue analysis, and board slides and other requests.
• Supervise the current finance team, including the day to day operations of finance in the market.
• Responsible for all regulatory analysis and submissions.
• Be the focal point for all market reviews – including compilation and ensuring completeness before
submissions.
• Supervise and oversee the mobile money (DMM) operations and product development.
Commercial
• Attract and retain customers by designing and implementing short and medium term strategies and
implementing them across the group.
• Manage the market strategy and costs associated with commercial activities.
• Contribute expertise and experience to the sales and marketing process for Commercial activities.
• Co-ordinate a Customer Driven product portfolio by ensuring that the products and services are
consistent with customer’s needs, co-coordinating inputs from managers and continuously reviewing
portfolio mix.
• Work closely with the other Departments in order to ensure proper coverage of the market and avoid
channel conflict on pricing, product launch, value propositions, account management and approach to
end-users.
• Ensure monitoring of business performance (by channel type, by product type; market share).
• Assist the Chief Commercial Officer with the preparation of business cases (limited to providing the raw
data which is either already available or to be requested from DWH).
• Assist the CEO and Chief Commercial Officer in the annual budget preparation.
Academic qualifications, experience and skills required for this role:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or related field;
• Experience in soliciting business requirements and translating those requirements into key performance
indicators.
• Strong management acumen and impeccable communications skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint Knowledge.
• Experience with Hyperion, DTS, Data warehouses, OLAP cubes, ETL, Data mining and Business
Intelligence systems.
