Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement the distribution strategy, in consultation with the Head of Department;
  • Provide strategic inputs on the distribution channel and ensure business growth (revenue, recharge and subscriber);
  • Provide input to the overall sales strategy to drive profitability of the distribution channel;
  • Set monthly targets for the Distribution channels, by territory;
  • Foster strong commercial relationships with the distribution channel partners and decision makers;
  • Incorporate Geographical planning while driving Business growth from Distribution channel;
  • Deliver sales target for all products (voice-prepaid / postpaid, data, VAS, handsets etc.) by ongoing monitoring and reviews of the Distribution channel;
  • Develop channel expansion strategy by evaluating insights from the distribution coverage and penetration;
  • Formulate the distribution strategy for expansion to improve reach, coverage and expand geographical footprint;
  • Plan execution of new product launches in the distribution channel with the Sales and Marketing Heads;
  • Attain market leadership through growth in terms of gross numbers, revenues, market share and profit, while complying with agreed budget, quality of additions and corporate policy guidelines;
  • Reporting and Analytics of Distribution KPIs;
  • Proactively monitor and track competition actions and initiatives in the market place and continuously share with cross functional team members and leadership team.

 

Academic qualifications and/or skills required for this role

  • Minimum of 10 years as a Sales Manager with a significant track record in the management of direct and indirect sales, distribution and logistics channels, demonstrating leadership rather than supervisory management techniques;
  • A track record of project management, planning and delivering KPIs and results;
  • High commercial awareness with regard to revenue generation and cost reduction;
  • Financial planning and budget management experience – strong reporting capability;
  • Makes well-informed, effective, and timely decisions, even when data is limited; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; readiness to make decisions, give judgments, take actions or commit oneself; draws on experience of self and others;
  • Ability to lead a distribution channel, with large number of channel partners of varying sizes and complexity;
  • Ability to manage in dynamic, high-growth, high-uncertainty environments;
  • Influencing skills, effective relationship management skills and proven ability to function within a matrix-organization;
  • Independent thought leadership and drive to execute;
  • Ability to work in a highly competitive industry and market place.
