IP Engineer
We are seeking to hire highly motivated individuals as an IP Engineer to be based in Apia reporting to the Technical Operations Manager
As an IP Engineer you will be the primary support for the corporate IP network, MBPN Network, CISCO switching and routing, checkpoint firewall, Allot NetEnforcer Sandvine DPI and KPI reporting. Secondary on delivery of helpdesk duties and other IT systems tasks.
Core Responsibilities:
- Design and plan IP network architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability. Create detailed network diagrams and documentation.
- Manage IP address allocation, assignment, and subnetting, ensuring efficient utilization of IP resources.
- Configure and maintain routers and switches, including dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Ensure networking issues raised by internal and external customers are reviewed and attended to within the timeframes agreed upon in the DPR goals. That is, issue is understood and attended to within 30mins of being reported.
- Ensure configurations on the network elements are properly documented before, implemented and tested in accordance with the Change Request Form.
- Ensure networking and service KPIs required are correct and scheduled for delivery to the stakeholders.
- RCA report produced within agreed timeframes. Within 1 week after issue resolution
Academic qualifications, Experience & Skill a required for this role:
- CCNA or any affiliate advanced level networking certifications.
- Or a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or any computing related discipline.
- Or at least 3 years of experience working with Networking systems and helpdesk support.
- IP switching and routing using Cisco switches and routers.
- IP switching and routing using Extreme switches and Juniper routers.
- IP Switching using Huawei switches.
- IP and systems security.
- Data analysis and reporting skills.
- Systems security awareness, as in passwords, permissions and access levels.
- Strong customer service orientation.
