Job Title: Rigger
Reports to: Head of Technical
Job Purpose:
The Telecommunication Tower Rigger will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication tower infrastructure. The role involves working at heights to ensure the proper installation of tower components and ensuring that tower operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, maintain, and repair telecommunication tower infrastructure, including antennas, cables, and transmission equipment.
• Inspect and maintain tower components to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Climb telecommunications towers using safety equipment and adhere to strict safety regulations.
• Install and remove tower components such as guy wires, antennas, and cable.
• Install and replace transmission equipment, such as radios, amplifiers, and remote control units.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine the proper installation of tower components.
• Ensure that all tower operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
• Follow all safety regulations and protocols.
• Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of tower operations and equipment.
Qualifications and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in tower climbing and rescue or relevant field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in telecommunication tower installation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of safe tower climbing practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of various tower components and tools.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Physical ability to climb telecommunications towers and work at heights.
