Core Responsibilities:
Inventory Management and Stock Control
-
- Ensure inventory counts and postings are accurate, with variances minimized, explained and supported.
- Coordinate, conduct and review month-end stock takes for all sites, including variance analysis and final book movements.
- Arrange fortnightly or ad-hoc spot checks for Retail flagships, Distribution managed kiosks and locations, and circulate reports to the Hub Inventory Team and Finance Controller.
- Investigate recurring stock variances and escalate accountability actions through the appropriate Finance and HR processes.
Petty Cash and Cash Advances

- Manage petty cash disbursement, receipts, coding and replenishment across sites.
- Follow up pending receipts and advances, reconcile receipts for funds disbursed, and verify petty cash reimbursements.
- Compile cash cheque requests to replenish regional cash funds and maintain petty cash month-end count and advance listings.
- Ensure cash advances are cleared within seven working days and that petty cash policies are complied with at all times.
Support MFS Financial Management

- Oversee month-end physical cash count, e-money, and reverse funds, confirming that reconciliations, supporting schedules, approvals and are complete and accurate before sending to Finance Hub Team.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of financial controls for MFS processes, including segregation of duties, approval controls, exception management and compliance with internal and external policies.
- Support finance-led process improvements, audits and new MFS initiatives by defining Finance requirements, reviewing process designs and ensuring appropriate financial controls are embedded before implementation.
Debtors, Revenue and Commission Support

- Lead follow-up activity to reduce aged debt by at least 10% through collection activity rather than write-offs or credit notes.
- Review commissions for Business Solutions, DSE’s and Retail. Confirm HOD sign-off, and send completed schedules to the Finance Controller.
- Maintain customer contracts, ensuring documents are signed by both parties, valid, and aligned to revenue booked.
Compliance, Controls and Statutory Requirements

- Ensure the Market complies with Hub approved Finance processes and controls at all times.
- Identify and document new controls implemented in-Market to safeguard financial integrity and performance before year-end.
- Ensure tax and statutory payments are completed when due under local legislation and that proper receipt records are maintained.
- Support timely compliance with tax authorities and other statutory bodies.
- Assist with filing of annual returns, business license/FIC renewal and other statutory requirements.
Budgets, Audits and Cost Saving Initiatives

- Provide full support for internal, external and tax audits, including provision of schedules, documentation and explanations.
- Work closely with the Opex Accountant to identify and deliver sustainable, ongoing cost saving initiatives beyond forecasted savings.
- Assist the Finance Controller and wider Finance team with budget preparation, review and follow-up.
Stakeholder Management, Administration and Team Support

- Manage finance-related external stakeholders on the ground and escalate unresolved matters when required.
- Work with HR to ensure completeness of joiner and leaver information in SuccessFactors.
- Complete ad-hoc tasks requested by the Finance Controller, Hub CFO, CEO, Regional CEO or Hub Finance
Academic qualifications, Experience & Skill a required for this role:
Education
-
- A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Professional study or membership such as CA, CPA or equivalent is encouraged.
Experience
-
- At least four (4) years of experience in finance operations, accounting, inventory finance, reconciliations or a similar role.
- Experience supporting audits, statutory compliance, debtor management, cash controls and stakeholder reporting is desirable.
- Experience with mobile money, inventory accounting, Hub finance processes or telecommunications finance is an advantage.
