We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior IT Systems Administrator to join our IT Operations Team at the Digicel Khalsa office, reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growth and innovation!

 

This role will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the company's IT infrastructure. This role includes managing Windows Server environments, overseeing virtualization platforms, maintaining storage systems, and ensuring high availability of critical applications. The IT System Administrator will also collaborate on IT security compliance, infrastructure projects, and monitor system health to ensure reliable and efficient performance

 

Core responsibilities:  

  1. Server and Network Administration:
    • Administer and manage Windows Active Directory (AD), Microsoft Entra, DNS, and DHCP services.
    • Azure Infrastructure Management, Provision, configure, and manage Azure virtual machines (VMs), networks, storage accounts, and other resources.
    • Configure and maintain Office 365 and related applications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, and Power Platform and OneLogin for secure access and identity management.
    • Utilize Microsoft SCCM and SCOM for system configuration, monitoring, and reporting.
    • Configure and manage wireless access points, controllers, and related hardware, monitor network performance and usage, using tools to identify and resolve issues.
  2. Virtualization and Storage Management:
    • Manage VMware vSphere and VXrail environments, ensuring system stability, resource optimization, and backups.
    • Support and configure storage solutions, including Dell, EMC, Hitachi, and Fiber Channel (FC) switches, to meet high-performance and data retention requirements.
  3. Data Backup and Recovery:
    • Configure and manage Veeam backup jobs for virtual, physical, Databases and cloud environments, Schedule and monitor regular backups to ensure data integrity and availability. Perform data recovery operations and test recovery processes to ensure reliability. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures on prem and in Azure.
    • Administer and maintain backup servers and applications, including EMC Data Domain, ensuring data integrity and compliance with recovery policies.
    • Oversee HPE, Dell, and other tape libraries, conducting regular checks and maintenance to ensure backup effectiveness.
  4. Data Center Management:
    • Perform regular data center maintenance and compliance checks, ensuring proper functioning of hardware and cooling systems.
    • Comply with IT and security standards, documenting maintenance activities and following best practices for data center health and safety.
  5. Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Use SolarWinds NPM, VM Manager, SAM, HPE OneView, Dell ESRS, and other tools to monitor infrastructure health and performance.
    • Generate and analyze reports, proactively addressing issues and providing management with regular updates on system health and security.
  6. Project and Compliance Management:
    • Participate in IT infrastructure projects, providing hands-on support and management for upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
    • Adhere to IT security and compliance processes, collaborating with relevant departments to implement and maintain policies.

 

Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in IT systems administration, with a focus on Windows and virtualization environments.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Office 365, Mail Meter, and OneLogin.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere, VxRail, storage solutions (Dell, EMC, Hitachi), and Fiber Channel switch administration.
  • Familiarity with backup solutions, including EMC Data Domain and tape library management.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds NPM, VM Manager, SAM, HPE OneView, Dell ESRS.
  • Proven project management skills with experience in IT infrastructure upgrades and deployment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to compliance and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with IT compliance frameworks and standards, including data privacy and security compliance.
