Software Developer

This role will report to Business Automation Process Manager and will  responsible for analysing user requirements and business objectives, determining application features and functionality and recommending changes to existing applications etc. to automate/customize the manual/broken processes &  develop applications for all markets of Digicel Pacific.

Successful candidate also need to compile detailed technical documentation and user assistance material, requiring excellent written communication.

Core Responsibilities:

• Write and maintain software code: Write, debug, and test software code to ensure that it is functional, reliable, and meets customer requirements. Use programming languages such as Java, C++, and Python to develop software applications.
• Collaborate with the development team: Work with the development team to ensure that software code is written to high standards and is in line with the organization's policies and procedures. Attend meetings and workshops to gather requirements and provide feedback.
• Learn and develop technical skills: Participate in training and development activities to learn and develop technical skills required to become a successful software developer.
• Ensure that software code follows best practices: Ensure that software code follows best practices in coding, testing, and documentation. Promote the use of software development methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
• Participate in code reviews: Participate in code reviews to ensure that software code is of high quality and meets the organization's policies and procedures

Academic qualifications, experience and skills required for this role:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 0-1 years of experience in software development.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, Python, PHP and C#.
• Experience with web development frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue.js will be beneficial.
• Experience with database design and development, including SQL will be beneficial
• Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to write clean, maintainable code.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
