We are currently seeking a highly motivated Head of Finance Shared Services to join our Finance Team at the Digicel Nabua office, reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer, Digicel Pacific Limited (DPL). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growth and innovation!

 

The role is accountable for the end-to-end management and delivery of all financial reporting and accounting functions within Finance Shared Services, including oversight of policies, practices, and financial systems. Key responsibilities include payroll, taxation, collections, transaction processing (AP, AR, and Treasury), capex and inventory accounting, and preparation of financial statements and oversees IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.  This position provides critical support across multiple Digicel Pacific markets; Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Nauru, and Papua New Guinea and may extend to other entities as required. The role is based in Suva, Fiji.

 

Core responsibilities:  

Strategic Leadership & Operational Oversight

Provide overall leadership and direction for the Finance Shared Services team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and alignment with organizational goals. Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance across all service areas.

 

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

Establish and maintain robust internal controls, financial policies, and compliance frameworks to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to IFRS standards and regulatory requirements. Proactively identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and deliver positive audit outcomes.

 

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

Oversee the timely and accurate completion of month-end close processes and financial reporting for all supported markets. Ensure delivery of high-quality financial information in line with service level agreements and reporting timetables, including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 compliance.

 

Performance Management & Stakeholder Engagement

Define and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of Shared Services operations. Provide clear, transparent communication and escalation to senior stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with business priorities across multiple Pacific markets.

 

Systems, Process Optimization & Change Leadership

Lead financial systems upgrades and enhancements in collaboration with IT, ensuring technology supports operational excellence. Drive process improvements and change initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and service delivery. Oversee all related tasks for the DCRFL entity.

 

Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
  • Proven track record in leading high-performing teams and managing complex finance operations.
  • Experience in high-volume transaction environments, preferably within a shared services or multi-entity structure.
  • Strong background in financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in a Finance Shared Services environment is an advantage.
