We are currently seeking a highly motivated Inventory Accountant to join our Shared Services Finance Team at the Digicel Nabua office, reporting to the Inventory Accounting Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growth and innovation!
The Inventory Accountant is responsible for closing month end inventory reports within the month end timetable. They are also responsible for reporting actual results versus budget and forecast, on a weekly basis. The Inventory Accountant will need to ensure that strong working relationships are built with all other functional areas to ensure high levels of customer service are achieved. Other major responsibilities for this role include adherence to compliance and continued process improvement.
Core responsibilities:

- Perform daily invoicing and receipting for inventory-related transactions
- Close month-end inventory reporting and reconciliations within agreed timelines
- Ensure inventory sub-ledgers reconcile accurately to the General Ledger and physical stock records
- Prepare and reconcile inventory-related balance sheet accounts at month end
- Coordinate weekly cycle counts and month-end stocktakes, investigate variances, and process inventory adjustments
- Calculate and review landed costs for all inventoried items upon receipt
- Review aged debt reports for inventory sales on a daily basis and follow up on exceptions
- Calculate and post Subscriber Acquisition Cost (SAC) journals at month end and provide weekly SAC movement reports to department heads
- Prepare aged inventory reports and calculate provisions for obsolete or slow-moving stock
- Maintain weekly reconciliations for Revenue from Contracts with Customers in accordance with IFRS 15
- Review, prepare, and post month-end journals
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing inventory and cost analysis
- Partner with commercial and operational teams to analyse inventory movements, margins, and cost drivers
- Develop, document, and continuously improve inventory accounting processes in line with accounting standards and best practice
- Monitor and maintain strong internal controls over inventory, identifying risks and recommending mitigation actions
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and delegated authority limits
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of inventory data across financial and operational systems
- Support system enhancements, testing, and user acceptance for inventory-related changes
- Liaise with internal and external auditors and support audit requirements
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders across all functional areas
- Assist with ad hoc requests and group reporting requirements as required
Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:

- Qualified accountant with at least 3 years plus experience in a similar role
- Experience of working with Great Plains an advantage.
- Experience of working with a Retail POS system will be an added advantage.
- Highly organised and efficient with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple competing priorities
- Strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive team player with the ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Ability to challenge constructively and escalate issues when required
- High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
- Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
