We are currently seeking a highly motivated Inventory Accounting Manager to join our Shared Services Finance Team at the Digicel Nabua office, reporting to the Head of Shared Services - Pacific. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growth and innovation!.
This position is responsible for managing and overseeing inventory accounting and Subscriber Acquisition Cost (SAC) reporting across all Pacific markets serviced by the Shared Services Centre. The role ensures timely and accurate month-end reporting, reconciliations, and analysis, while maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality service. The manager is accountable for the continuous improvement of inventory and SAC processes, internal controls, and team performance. This role is designed as an 18-month fixed term opportunity with the Shared Services Centre.
Core responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Inventory/SAC Accountants, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- Oversee month-end inventory reporting and reconciliations for all markets, ensuring alignment of sub-ledgers, GL accounts, and physical stock records.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct monthly inventory stocktakes and cycle counts, investigating and resolving variances.
- Review and approve costing for new stock items and ensure accurate calculation of landed costs.
- Calculate, review, and post SAC journal adjustments and provide weekly SAC movement reports to department heads.
- Prepare aged inventory reports and provisions for slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Review and post all month-end journals and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing timely and accurate information for audit requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for inventory and SAC processes, including automation, process efficiency, and compliance.
- Provide analysis and reporting to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
- Assist with ad hoc financial and inventory-related matters as required.
Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Studies.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification (or currently pursuing).
- Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, with a portion in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Experience with Microsoft Great Plains or other ERP systems is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of inventory processes, comprehensive supply chain process, costing, and internal controls
