We are currently seeking a highly motivated Inventory Intern to join our Shared Services Finance Team at the Nabua reporting to the Inventory Accounting Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growth and innovation!
The Inventory Intern is responsible for accurately processing inventory sales transactions, supporting inventory costing, and assisting with month-end stock takes and variance analysis. The role ensures timely and accurate inventory records, provides clerical and financial support to the Inventory Accounting team, and contributes to the smooth operation of inventory processes while maintaining strong compliance with internal policies and controls.
Core responsibilities:
- Perform daily inventory sales receipting and ensure accurate recording in the system.
- Assist in the application of receipts to sales invoices and reconcile discrepancies.
- Support inventory costing processes, including calculating and verifying costs.
- Assist in month-end stock takes, cycle counts, and reconcile variances with the Inventory Accounting Team.
- Assist in investigating stock discrepancies and provide support for variance analysis.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure inventory data integrity across operational and financial systems.
- Support the Inventory Accounting Team with ad hoc inventory reporting and clerical tasks.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and follow established policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including finance, warehouse, retail, and commercial teams to resolve inventory issues.
Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:
- Diploma in accounting, finance or business studies
- A good knowledge in Microsoft Excel, any billing system & Microsoft Great Plains would be an added advantage.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, internal stakeholders, and external parties.
- Ability to build positive relationships, investigate issues, respond to queries, and follow through to resolution.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently, while also being a collaborative team player.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated with strong work ethics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with billing or ERP systems; familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
