We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our Shared Services Finance Team at the Nabua office, reporting to the Financial Controller. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growth and innovation!
The Senior Accountant will take overall responsibility for the accuracy of the data and entries for and IFRS 16 (Leases) and IFRS 15 (Revenue from Contracts) for all Pacific entities including Head Office entities and assist with KPI reporting.
Core responsibilities:
- For IFRS 16, review entry of contracts by market OPEX Accountants and enter details accurately into Nomos One as and when there are new/renewed contracts
- For IFRS 15, maintain up-to-date log of revenue contract details for the markets and perform necessary IFRS calculations for over time revenue recognition
- Liaise with Accountants for any contract details
- Generate monthly IFRS journals and ensure it reconciles to GP. Perform any true-ups required.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting of IFRS numbers
- Completing IFRS templates required for Group reporting purposes
- Handle internal/external audits in relation to IFRS
- Training on IFRS 16/15 when any amendments to standards
- Assist with KPI reporting
- Attend to other technical accounting matters and any other matters assigned by the reporting manager.
Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA/CA qualified accountant with minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in IFRS 15/16 is mandatory and be familiar with the standards
- Experience of high-volume transactions environment
