We therefore invite internal applications for the position of Field Team Leader based at the Head Office, reporting to the Technical Manager - Network.
Responsible for day-to-day Network availability assurance (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and backbone sites) across Digicel Tonga operation. Direct field teams on RNA activities and optimize the restoration lead time. Partner and vendor coordination to achieve the best RNA all the time. Co-develops processes, policies and strategy to ensure network operations goals are met. OPEX assurance and finding innovative solutions/ideas & provide decision making points to management to reduce the site operating cost.
Core responsibilities:
- Manage 24 hours, 7 days a week operability of the Transmission Network for Mobile & ISP Services.
- Manage the co-ordination of all work relating to the Transmission Network, in terms of routine maintenance, development and expansion.
- Liaise with Vendors, Customer Care, Technical Support and external maintenance contractors on ongoing Transmission Network activities for Mobile/ISP services.
- Analyze, resolve and escalate where necessary all Mobile/ISP related issues, and in particular Transmission Network.
- Development of routine and emergency procedures to enhance Transmission Network availability and stability.
- Development/refinement of technical operational procedures to streamline activities of the Network OPS team.
- Assisting Technical Manager in Identification and implementation of training needs of supervised staff.
- Conduct site surveys for existing sites expansion or new sites rollout.
- Provide daily/weekly/monthly performance and activities reports to Technical Manager.
- Provide weekly fault reports to Technical Manager and supervise the team to resolution.
- Provide extended support to staff beyond normal tour of duty.
- Assist in attending to the welfare of staff to uplift and maintain a high morale within the Section.
Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:
- Diploma/ Graduate Engineering in Electronics and Communication
- 10+ years of experience in Mobile operator / OEM
- Worked in Network Operations on power systems
