We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Treasury Executive to join our Shared Services Finance Team at the Nabua office reporting to the Treasury Team Leader. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growth and innovation!
The Senior Treasury Executive is primarily responsible for managing bank compliance requirements for all entities. This role works closely with banking partners and the Treasury team to ensure that all compliance matters are properly maintained and up to date. In addition to their operational responsibilities, the Senior Treasury Executive provides support and guidance to other Treasury team members when required. In the absence of the Team Leader, the Senior Treasury Executive assumes overall responsibility for the Treasury team, ensuring that all tasks are completed and deadlines are met.
Core responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate bank compliance requirements for all entities, working closely with the banking partners, Treasury team, Manager and Legal team:
- Opening new bank accounts that may be required for operational needs
- Close bank accounts that are no longer required
- Consolidate bank accounts to reduce the number of bank accounts maintained by an entity
- Add new signatories as required
- Remove signatories that have left the business or have transitioned to a different role
- Update company information as requested by Banks
- Initiating and maintaining MT940
- Providing backup to Treasury Team leader
- Provide support to the Treasury team
- Provide back up support when Treasury executive is away on leave
- Daily reconciliation of sales vs banking.
- Reconcile and tick off daily entries posted by AR, Inventory and AP that impact bank accounts.
- Void any incorrect entry posted to Bank subledger.
- Prepare weekly variance reports between GL and Bank Statement and discuss with AR, Inventory and AP to resolve quickly.
- Perform timely bank transfers to ensure there is sufficient funds for payroll, statutory payments and vendor payments.
- Prepare daily cash balances for group reporting, including unpresented cheques and lodgments.
- Extract credit card transaction listings when requested by cardholders for reconciliation.
- Monthly review bank fees GL code and validate all entries posted here.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation. Ensure proper supporting documents are attached.
- Escalate any suspicious movements in the bank accounts to Manager/HoD
- Liaise with internal and external auditors for any requests or queries relating to Bank accounts.
- Assist with any requests from Group Treasury.
Academic qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Business Studies/ or Pursuing Degree & near to completion
- At Least 1-2 years’ experience of working in a finance function processing invoices in a high-volume transactions’ environment
- Experience of working with Great Plains would be an advantage
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in written format
- Ability to build a positive relationship as well as investigate, respond to, and progress issues and queries to a successful conclusion at the earliest time
- The ability to show initiative when required to work as an individual, and as part of a team
- Have a proven ability to achieve results within time constraints.
- Highly motivated and organized, with strong work ethics and an inclination to work smart as part of a competent team
